2021 Three Rivers Way Vista 300
PC: Kim Murrell Alrighty...it's only about 48 hours since my Vista 300 ended, and I'm still tired, so I'm going to try to make this shorter than my previous ramblings. This was my third time starting the vista route; all of the info on this event can be found on Tennessee Gravel website. My first attempt was my first bikepacking trip ever, and I bit off more than I could chew. I bailed at Green Cove around mile 120 or so. The second time, I completed the route in about 72 hours, so my goal for this trip was 60 hours or less (2.5 days). The grand depart was at 6:30am on a Thursday and I hoped to be finished before sundown on Saturday. About 315 miles and 35,000 feet of elevation gain. Kim Murrell, the mastermind behind the Vista 300/Mountain 420, was gracious enough to give us veteran riders a free cabin to stay in, in Reliance, at her Fireside Outpost, the night before the grand depart.
